St. Vincent (6-4) used a six-run second inning to get by Woodland (6-4) on an 8-4 margin, with the win sending the Indians to the Oak Ridge Invitational Baseball Tournament championship game.

Liam Krauss led the offense for St. Vincent, with his one hit for a double driving in three runs in the second inning. Christian Schaaf, Blake Monier and Tyler Hennemann all finished with a hit in the Indians’ 8-4 win.

Jacob Seabaugh’s 5.0 innings pitched for St. Vincent saw him allow four hits, three walks, a hit-by-pitch and two earned runs while striking out seven batters. Trevor Moonier closed the game for St. Vincent, pitching one full inning and ending a four-run top of the sixth for Woodland with two walks and two strikeouts.

Kiren Lindley’s one hit and one RBI led the Woodland offense on Friday, pushing the Cardinals’ sixth-inning rally with a double. Grainger Yurevich also hit for a double in the loss for Woodland.

St. Vincent next plays at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Oak Ridge for the tournament championship against Jefferson.

__Chaffee 4, Saxony Lutheran 1__

Chaffee (11-3) scored four runs in the first inning and cruised into a 4-1 victory against Saxony Lutheran (5-3) at home on Friday night.

Leyton Hanback led the Red Devils with two hits in the win, driving in a run while walking once. Easton Fowler, Levi McKinnie and Connor Berry all notched hits in the win, with Berry driving in a game-high two runs.

McKinnie threw for 7.0 innings in the win for the Red Devils, allowing three hits and three walks without earning a run, striking out 13 batters.

Carson Birk, Drew Hahs and Jace Boland all finished with a hit each for the Crusaders in the loss, with Birk drawing two walks and Boland drawing another.

Chaffee next plays at 6:30 p.m. on Monday against Risco (7-6), while Saxony Lutheran next plays at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Oran (8-2).

__Scott City 13, Malden 4 / Scott City 2, East Prairie 1__

Scott City baseball (9-4) swept a doubleheader in the Malden Tournament, defeating the hosting Malden (2-8) by a 13-4 margin while ending the day with a 2-1 win against East Prairie (5-8).

Colin Blaylock and Luke Umfleet both finished with one-hit, two-RBI lines in the game against Malden to lead the Rams’ offense, with Blaylock drawing another two walks while Umfleet’s hit went for two bases for the Rams’ only extra-base hit of the game.

The bats went quieter for the second game of the day against East Prairie, with Blaylock finishing with another one-hit game, driving in a run while also walking once. Kobe Watson and Gavin Venable both notched hits in just a three-hit game for Scott City.

Blake Wilburn’s 6.0 innings pitched on just one earned run earned him the win for the Rams against East Prairie, allowing three hits and five walks, striking out eight batters in the process.
