Despite a cloudy, overcast radar showing uncertainty for a packed Tuesday slate, local teams played on for a busy day in Southeast Missouri.

Part of a historic rivalry series, Jackson (11-3) made it eight consecutive victories over Cape Central (3-13) with a dominant 11-0 victory in five innings on Tuesday.

Senior pitcher John-Paul Sauer racked up an impressive 10 strikeouts in four innings of work against the Tigers, and Waylon Hale picked up the pace offensively.

Hale clubbed a double and a homer in the win, going 3-for-3 in the batter's box to easily help the Indians put away one of their top rivals.

Poplar Bluff baseball (11-5) got a huge SEMO Conference victory against Notre Dame (8-5) on the road, smacking the Bulldogs 11-1 in five innings.

Myles Johnson hit two doubles in the win, and paired with a ridiculous two-hit, one-walk day from Dylan Bratcher, one of the top offenses in the SEMO Conference never stood a chance.

Leopold baseball (3-4) got a huge performance out of Frederick Brandel en route to a 9-5 victory against Woodland (3-5) in a battle of nearby rivals.

Brandel threw for five hits and a walk while going 3-for-4 at the dish to will the Wildcats past the Cardinals in Tuesday action, getting a momentum-building dub at home.

Woodland softball (5-3) was not to be denied against Leopold (2-4), clobbering the Wildcats from the first pitch.

That, along with a ridiculous 14-run fourth inning and four-hit games from both Addyson Massa and Laci Detjen saw Woodland fly past for a huge win.

Here are all your box scores for Tuesday action in the area.
