It was a rainy Thursday in Southeast Missouri, and many of the day's games got postponed or canceled.

But for Meadow Heights, searching for a response to a tough loss earlier this week, the Panthers got it against Bloomfield.

The Panthers (11-7) scored in each of the game's first three innings and kept the pace en route to a complete-game shutout against the Wildcats.

Led by James Miller's seven innings of six-hit ball, the Panthers took home a huge shutout win to knock off a tough Bloomfield squad.

Ransom Grindstaff and Elijah Frazier each hit twice for the Panthers, with Grindstaff hitting a pair of doubles to lead the game with two RBIs.

Braeden Hays hit yet another homer, this time jacking up a solo shot to keep the iron hot for Meadow Heights as his squad pounded the rock.

Caleb Upchurch led the charge for Bloomfield, hitting twice for a pair of singles but the Wildcats simply couldn't generate an offensive rhythm.

Make it seven consecutive wins for Scott City (17-5) and 14 of its last 15 as the Rams throttled Charleston on Thursday afternoon.

If you want to win, scoring 12 runs in the first inning is a good way to do it.

Summer Wagner, Harley Glueck and Alyssa Dirden each hit twice in the victory, while Gracie Karrenbrock led the Rams with three RBIs off one hit.

Reese Carter earned the start for Scott City, throwing a full inning but coming out for Mackenzie Lawless, who pitched the final 2.0 for the Rams and got the winning nod from the statistician.

Gracie Smith and Bailey Eastman both got singles for the Blue Jays, while Kari Murphy drew two walks in the loss to keep them alive.

Tied in a back-and-forth affair with Jefferson, St. Vincent (6-10) surrendered two runs late that proved to be the downfall in a 4-3 loss on Thursday.

Leading 3-2 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, Jefferson put two across to put all the pressure on the Indians, and they couldn't answer in the seventh.

Simon Barber got busy with three hits in the loss, singling three times in four at-bats to keep the offense hot while Christian Schaaf drove in two runs.

Pitcher Jacob Seabaugh had a solid game, throwing 5.2 innings worth of four-run ball, allowing four hits and three walks and striking out five batters.

Oran softball (11-4) has caught fire as of late, winning six consecutive non-tourney games including Thursday's 7-3 victory over Portageville.

Bralynn Morgan's three hits led the Eagles in the win, while Molly Spane hit twice for three RBIs, each doubling once.

Ava Forehand and Caroline Brashear each got another two singles to keep the bases packed for Oran as it pushed past a phenomenal Portageville team.

Spane got another win in the circle, this time throwing seven innings worth on six hits, two walks and just one earned run, striking out 10 Bulldogs.

Ja'Niya Smith and Laney Stone each singled twice in the loss, giving Portageville some offensive momentum but not enough to put away a huge day for the Eagle offense.

__BB: Oran 16, Charleston 1__

Oran baseball (11-5) got a big win of its own against a southern opponent, this time cruising past Charleston on the road.

The win made it seven of the last eight for the Eagles, scoring nine runs in the third inning to blitz past the Blue Jays on the road.

Brenden Campbell and Nolan Loper each racked up three hits for the Eagles, with Loper grabbing their only extra-base hit with a double.

Kole Burger, Parker Bryant and Gabe Dirnberger all joined them in multi-hit territory with two knocks in the victory.

Dirnberger got the victory on the mound, throwing five innings without an earned run. He struck out six batters while allowing just three hits and two walks.
