Missouri and Mississippi, who haven't played each other in football since 1979, have agreed to a home-and-home series in 2006 and 2007, officials said Thursday.

The two teams will play Sept. 9, 2006, in Columbia, Mo., and Sept. 8, 2007, in Oxford, Miss.

The teams played four previous times, all from 1973 to 1979. Missouri won three of the games.

Missouri's 2006 schedule is complete except for one game.

The Tigers will host Murray State on Sept. 2 and Mississippi the following week before traveling to New Mexico on Sept. 16.

The Sept. 23, 2006, game is not yet scheduled. The Tigers begin Big 12 play on Sept. 30, 2006, at home against Colorado.
