Missouri coaches select 6 local players all-state

Five local boys and one girl have been named to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association all-state teams.

Leopold senior Kyle Stroder, Oak Ridge junior Ryan Below, Advance senior Ethan Barr, Oran senior Alex Heuring and Jackson junior Karson King all collected honors for the boys, while Scott County Central senior Mikaela Blissett was honored on the girls side.

The 6-foot-5 Stroder was named to the Class 1 team along with the 6-3 Below. Stroder averaged 21.9 points a game for the Wildcats (24-3). Below averaged 19.5 points and 10.2 rebounds for the Blue Jays (20-7).

The 6-4 Barr averaged 21.9 points and 9 rebounds per game for the Hornets (21-8). The 6-4 Heuring averaged 15.7 points and 8.4 rebounds for the Eagles (27-5), who reached the Class 2 semifinals.

The 6-5 King led the Indians (19-11) to the Class 5 quarterfinals, averaging 15.4 points per game.

The 5-8 Blissett averaged 27.1 points and 10.8 rebounds in helping the Bravettes (20-7) to the Class 1 sectional round.
