NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Pinch-hitter Alan Oaks homered off Vanderbilt ace David Price in the top of the 10th inning and Michigan (42-17) beat the overall No. 1 seed Commodores 4-3 on Monday night to advance to the NCAA tournament's super regionals.
Price (11-1), a left-hander starter projected as one of the top picks in this week's amateur baseball draft, pitched the ninth and 10th innings in relief.
Adam Abraham (5-1) earned the win in relief, and Michael Powers got the save with a perfect 10th.
Vanderbilt (54-13) tied the game 3-3 in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Flaherty and a run-scoring single by Matt Meingaser.
