The Panthers got 16 points from Whitney Welker as they downed Chaffee in the Class 2 District 3 girls basketball tournament semifinals in Chaffee.

Hattie Cook added 15 points, including four 3-pointers, for Meadow Heights (19-6).

Amber Kirk paced the Red Devils with 12 points.

The Panthers will face Oran in the title game. The Eagles knocked off Saxony Lutheran 51-41.

Second-seeded Leopold knocked off seventh-seeded Delta 63-45 to advance to play Bell City tonight in the semifinals at Bell City.

The third-seeded Cubs were victors over Marquand, 85-34. The two teams will square off at 7:30 p.m.

Zalma fell to Richland 83-77. Richland will play top-seeded Scott County Central at 6 p.m. today.
