DELTA -- Marquand remained undefeated in Mississippi Valley Conference play with an exciting 78-71 overtime victory over host Delta Tuesday night in boys high school basketball action.
Marquand's Dusty Stephens forced overtime when he converted a pass from teammate Brandon Settle into a layup at the buzzer to tie the score 64-64.
Stephens led the Tigers with 20 points while Settle and Steve Braswell both added 16.
Delta's Shawn Kinder scored a game-high 22 points before fouling out. Garrett DeBrock netted 16 and Andy Blattel tallied 12.
Marquand improved to 10-6 overall and 4-0 in the conference. Delta fell to 12-6 and 1-1.
Delta took a 28-27 lead into halftime and held a 47-44 advantage at the start of the fourth quarter. Marquand outscored Delta 20-17 in the fourth quarter to force overtime and then held a 14-7 advantage in the extra session for the win.
Kelly 91, Bernie 60
BENTON -- Mike Riley scored a career-high 19 points to lead four Hawks in double figures as Kelly defeated visiting Bernie Tuesday night.
Ben Klipfel and Jim Hulshof both netted 15 points and Jason Glastetter scored 12. Kelly improved to 17-2 with the win.
"Mike had a super game tonight, both offensively and defensively," said Kelly coach Kent Mangels.
Patrick Wick scored a game-high 20 points for Bernie.
Kelly jumped on Bernie early and held a 21-10 lead by the close of the first quarter. The Hawks expanded their advantage every quarter, holding a 46-29 lead at halftime and a 73-43 edge at the start of the fourth quarter.
Woodland 98, Meadow Heights 56
PATTON -- David Massa hit eight 3-pointers and exploded for 41 points as Woodland beat host Meadow Heights Tuesday night.
Woodland (11-6) held a 21-14 first-quarter advantage and led 44-25 at halftime.
Woodland's Jason Banderman scored 16 points and Greg Lincoln added 11.
For Meadow Heights (2-14), Kevin Weaver totaled 21 points.
Advance 82, Zalma 50
ADVANCE -- Gary Ahern scored 24 points as Advance rolled past visiting Zalma Tuesday night.
Shannon Bennett added 15 points and Garrett Broushuis netted 10 as Advance improved to 8-9.
Josh Smith netted 20 points for Zalma (2-13).
Advance led 17-12 after the first quarter and extended its lead to 33-19 by halftime. The Hornets blew the game open in the third period, scoring 29 points for a 62-31 advantage.
Bell City 74, Chaffee 44
CHAFFEE -- Leading 33-27 at halftime, Bell City outscored host Chaffee 21-5 in the third quarter and cruised to a win Tuesday night.
For Bell City (11-6), Brandon Stewart scored 18 points, Justin Stephens 14, Matt Knoderer 14 and Josh Davison 12.
Jeremy Vandeven led Chaffee (1-12) with 11 points.
Oran 82, Oak Ridge 58
OAK RIDGE -- Four Eagles scored in double figures as Oran beat Oak Ridge on the road on Tuesday.
Daniel Wheeler scored 15 points, Travis Friga 14, Chris Nichols 14 and Jerod Hamm 13 as Oran, which held an 18-15 first-quarter advantage and led 35-24 at halftime, improved to 10-7.
For Oak Ridge (2-13), Eric Hobeck scored 20 points, Darren Hahs 16 and Matt Preusser 11.
Scott County 90, East Prairie 73
EAST PRAIRIE -- Scott County Central got 25 points from Jreece Johnson and 20 from John Ford during its road victory Tuesday night.
The Braves (7-9) also got 17 points from James Jones and 10 from both Todd Blissett and Jason Gipson.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Kelly 56, Sikeston 37
SIKESTON -- Tiffany Glastetter poured in 21 points as Kelly had little problem disposing of host Sikeston Tuesday night.
Pam Essner added 12 points for the Lady Hawks, who improved to 14-4.
Kelly built an 18-4 lead in the first quarter and led 32-12 at halftime.
BOYS SWIMMING
Eureka 130, Cape Central 119, Webster Groves 29
ST. LOUIS -- Cape Central's swim team finished its dual meet season Tuesday by splitting with Eureka and Webster Groves at Webster College.
Eureka defeated Cape Central 130-119, while the Tigers finished well ahead of Webster Groves 119-29.
Central finished its dual season with a 5-7 record.
The Tigers boasted five first-place finishes, including wins by Jason Owen in the 200 IM (2:03.30) and 100 butterfly (57.85). Owen finished the dual season undefeated in his events.
Ben Roeger also turned in victories in the 200 freestyle (1:58.97) and 100 backstroke (59.57). Jaime Higgins also turned in a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.44).
The Tigers compete in the Springfield Invitational on Saturday, their final meet before the Missouri State Swim Championships.

Jackson coach Steve Wachter said the meet was closer than the score indicates.
"It was a hard-fought meet," Wachter said.
Jackson improved to 8-1 in dual meets.
Jackson's JV team won 60-9.
