The Malden Green Wave assault on the scoreboard continued Friday night against Scott City.

MALDEN, Mo. -- The Malden Green Wave assault on the scoreboard continued Friday night against Scott City.

Already averaging 51.7 points per game through three games, the Green Wave scored 10 touchdowns against the Rams en route to a 71-8 victory.

Malden (4-0), ranked No. 8 in Class 2, has beaten Scott City (2-2) eight straight times dating back to the state playoffs in 2008.

The Green Wave scored 63 unanswered points Friday as an interception touchdown return by Parker McCormick started things out in the first quarter.

In total, the Green Wave ran for five scores led by Dremond Robinson, who totaled three touchdowns and 131 yards on just six carries.

Cortez Dobbins had a rushing touchdown of 50 yards in the second quarter.

Dee Tripplett added the final rushing score on the night.

Quarterback Chapen Riley connected with Jeremy Jones (20 yards), McCormick (15 yards) and Shaeen Perkins (21 yards) for touchdown strikes in the second quarter. Overall, Riley was 9 of 12 for 127 yards.

The Green Wave also had a fumble recovery in the end zone for a touchdown by Jackson Wilson in the third quarter.

Nick Bickings found paydirt from 36 yards out for the lone Rams touchdown.

Ty Wilthong started at quarterback for the Rams but Braden Cox took over late in the second quarter. The duo combined on 36 pass attempts for 101 yards. Bickings had 48 rushing yards while Caleb Sykes had 34 on 10 carries.

Malden will host East Prairie on Friday, while Scott City will host rival Chaffee.

FOOTBALL

Fredericktown 33, Perryville 6

The Pirates dropped to 2-2 on the season while Fredericktown recorded its first win.

Perryville will travel to Affton High School for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday.
