COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Forward Leo Lyons scored 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds Sunday as Missouri beat Oral Roberts 92-83.

DeMarre Carroll had 15 points and eight rebounds for the Tigers (5-1) and Zaire Taylor added 10 points.

"Carroll and Lyons are tough matchups because they can shoot and put the ball on the floor," Oral Roberts coach Scott Sutton said. "We have a little bit of lack of depth up front right now, so it was tough for us to match up with them tonight."

Oral Roberts guard Robert Jarvis came off the bench to lead all scorers with 34 points. The Golden Eagles shot 64 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

"When good players like that get going, its hard to stop them," Missouri point guard Taylor said.

Missouri led by as many as 19 points after going on a 21-10 run in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

The Golden Eagles (1-4) cut the lead to eight with under 5 minutes to play.

"The starters did a good job, but they were flat at first," Missouri coach Mike Anderson said. "The bench got us going, but I went in at halftime and talked to those guys, and I feel like they came out after that with a greater sense of urgency."
