Southeast Missouri State sophomore Kindra Lierz was chosen as the Ohio Valley Conference's goalkeeper of the week following two impressive performances last week.
Lierz, who was the conference's freshman of the year and defender of the year last season, made a career-high 16 saves in a scoreless tie in the Redhawks' regular-season finale against UT Martin. The Skyhawks took 42 shots.
Lierz gave up one goal in the first half of No. 6 Southeast's double-overtime against No. 3 Jacksonville State on Sunday in a quarterfinal of the OVC tournament, but her four stops on penalty kicks were critical in the Redhawks' shootout victory. She had five saves in the match.
Southeast advanced to a semifinal against No. 2 Tennessee Tech with the win. The game is set for 11 a.m. Friday in Murray, Kentucky.
No. 1 Murray State, which went undefeated in the conference regular season, will face No. 5 Morehead State at 2 p.m. Friday. The winners will meet in Sunday's 1 p.m. title game.
