MARBLE HILL -- Top-seeded Leopold rebounded from an opening-set loss to defeat Meadow Heights in three sets in the championship match of the Woodland Tournament Friday night.

Third-seeded Meadow Heights won the first game 15-6, but Leopold, undefeated on the season, won the next two games by identical 15-3 scores.

In the third-place match, fourth-seeded Zalma turned back second-seeded Woodland 15-9, 3-15, 15-7.

Dianna Lukefahr led Woodland with nine kills while Sarah Booth added eight. April Campbell finished with a team-high 13 service points.

In consolation action, Advance beat Bloomfield 15-8, 15-11.

Egyptian 7, Kelly 6

TAMMS, Ill. -- Egyptian pushed across the tying run in the seventh to force extra innings and then scored the winning run in the eighth Friday to hand visiting Kelly its first loss of the season.

"Egyptian has a good team with a lot of good hitters," said Kelly coach Rhonda Evans, whose team fell to 5-1.

Kim Riley pitched all eight innings to suffer the loss. She allowed eight hits and no walks while striking out two.

Kelly had 10 hits, including a home run by Marissa Essner leading off the game. Pam Essner, Audrey Burford and Andi Heisserer all had two hits.

The Lady Hawks will host Greenville Monday.
