PATTON, Mo. -- The Leopold High School volleyball team, seeded second, won the championship of the Meadow Heights Tournament with a thrilling victory over the top-seeded, host squad Friday night.
Leopold slipped past Meadow Heights 10-15, 15-10, 16-14. The Lady Wildcats are now 18-3-1 while the Lady Panthers fell to 21-4.
Notre Dame (20-5-1), the No. 3 seed, captured third place by beating No. 5 St. Vincent (9-15-1) 15-5, 13-15, 15-5.
Earlier Friday, in the semifinals, Leopold beat Notre Dame 15-6, 15-4 and Meadow Heights downed St. Vincent 15-12, 15-12.
No individual statistics on the matches were available as the Southeast Missourian went to press.

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Advance knocked off Woodland in two games.
Dana Williams had a big match for the Lady Hornets (9-14-1) with 10 kills, 10 digs and three service aces. Abby Winchester had seven assists while Nicole Tropf added three blocks and three service aces.
For the Lady Cardinals (7-16), Emily Davis had five kills and five digs. Danyel Farrell recorded seven assists and seven service points while Jeni Jackson contributed four kills and four digs.
Woodland won the JV match 15-1, 15-4.

SO. MISSOURI 15-12-9
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Eagle Ridge Christian School of Cape Girardeau rallied to knock off Southern Missouri Christian School of Poplar Bluff.
Eagle Ridge (6-5) was led by Amber Karnes with 13 service points, five kills and four blocks. Rachel Carbaugh had four kills and Brandy Shreve recorded nine service points.
Southern Missourian won the JV match 15-5, 7-15, 15-9.
