Lauren Reinagel led the Notre Dame girls softball team to another championship in the Notre Dame SoftballFest, shutting out Kelly 2-0 on one hit Saturday to win the title game.
Reinagel pitched four shutouts in the tournament on Saturday, allowing just four hits over 23 innings. She had 33 strikeouts and pitched a seven-inning no-hitter against Scott City. She also blanked Saxony Lutheran and Goreville (Ill.).
Reinagel has all six wins for unbeaten Notre Dame, which opened the season with a 5-0 win against rival Cape Central. Reinagel pitched a perfect game in that one with 17 strikeouts.
Reinagel was the standout pitcher last year for the Bulldogs, posting a 28-1 record as the team made the Class 3 final four and finished 29-1.
"She has got an arsenal," Notre Dame coach Jeff Graviett said. "We don't expect a perfect game every time, but she is going to keep us in the game."
