POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Cape Central's girls track teams won a triangular meet Tuesday, defeating both Poplar Bluff and Fredericktown. POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Cape Central's girls track teams won a triangular meet Tuesday, defeating both Poplar Bluff and Fredericktown.

Central's girls accumulated 92 points while Poplar Bluff had 75 and Fredericktown had 16.

Central athletes won 12 events with Kim Pancoast, Lanie Bohnsack, Alex Wieser and Heather Jenkins each winning two individuals events.

Pancoast won both the 1600 and 3200 meters; Bohnsack was victorious in the high jump and triple jump; Wieser captured the 400 and long jump; and Jenkins claimed first in both the discus and shot put.

On the boys side, Poplar Bluff won with 94 points while Cape Central placed second with 79. Fredericktown placed third with 12 points.

Central won eight events, including victories in four relays. The quartet of Monroe Hicks, Jeremiah Dukes, Carlos Hemphill and Marland Heard won both the 400 and 800 relays.

TENNIS

Cape Central 9, Dexter 0

DEXTER, Mo. 00 Cape Central improved to 5-0 in dual matches with a shutout victory over the Bearcats.

"We're playing good," said Cape Central coach Bud Craven. "We'll really find out on Saturday against Parkway West."

The Tigers won the JV match 11-1.
