FLORISANT -- The Cape Central Lady Tigers had an easy time with the Lady Hawks of Hazelwood Central, improving their record to 8-4 overall with a 53-36 win Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Katie Dougherty was the only Lady Tiger in double figures, totaling a game-high 15 points. Dionna Webb, Courtney Haman and Erica McDonald all added eight points.
"This was a fun game for us," said Cape Central coach Paula Watkins. "Everybody got an opportunity to play and score."
Webb, only a sophomore, filled in at point guard for Kim Aslinger and had a solid floor game.
Said Watkins: "Dionna moved to point guard and did a really good job."
Cape led 11-6 after one quarter and 33-17 at halftime.
The Lady Tigers don't play again until Saturday when they host Carbondale (Ill.) in the Tiger Shootout.

Hazelwood Central 75, Cape Central 45
FLORISANT -- The Tigers ended a busy week Saturday with a 30-point loss to the Hazelwood Central Hawks.
The loss was the Tigers' second in as many days and dropped their record to 6-6. The Hawks improved to 10-2.
Aron Meystedt ripped the nets on four 3-pointers and led the Tigers with 14 points. Chris Bergerson added 12.
The Tigers get back on the court Friday in New Madrid before hosting the Tiger Shootout on Saturday. The Tigers play Parkway Central in the final shootout game.
