ST. LOUIS -- Cape Central beat Oakville 54-28 and took third in the Oakville Invitational on Thursday, its best finish ever in the tournament.
After struggling in the first half, Central (2-1) outscored the host 33-12 in the second half. Central held Oakville to eight points or less in each quarter.
Amy Harris led the Lady Tigers with 12 points.
"In the second half we played well and we kept pulling away," said Central coach Paula Watkins.
Central's JV took third in a tournament at Mehlville by beating Francis Howell 55-40 Thursday.
Kelly 74, Chaffee 19
BENTON -- Kelly improved to 3-0 with its easy win over visiting Chaffee on Thursday.
The Lady Hawks, who had five players score in double figures, limited Chaffee to no more than six points in a quarter.
Ashley Dirnberger led all scorers with 17 points, Audrey Burford had 14, Pam Essner 11, Marissa Essner 10 and Tiffany Glastetter 10.
Jamie Duncan led Chaffee with seven points.
Delta 65, East Prairie 16
DELTA -- Delta blanked East Prairie in the opening quarter in jumping out to a 19-0 lead.
Delta (2-1) extended the lead to 43-5 by halftime.
Amanda McDaniel led the Lady Bobcats with 24 points while Kristen Fish added 10.
Delta returns to action Wednesday against Oran in the Chaffee Tournament.
St. Vincent 53, Ste. Genevieve Valle 44
STE. GENEVIEVE -- St. Vincent (1-2) beat Valle in its round-robin tournament Thursday.
After trailing 15-12 after one quarter, St. Vincent outscored Valle 41-29 from there. Debbie Welker, Fara Galati and Sara Cissell each had 10 points for the Squaws.
St. Vincent will play Windsor at 6 p.m. Saturday in the tournament.

Woodland, Delta win
MARBLE HILL -- Top seed Delta and No. 3 host Woodland will meet at 8:30 p.m. today for the championship of the Woodland Tournament.
In semifinal games Thursday, Delta beat Perryville 69-55 and Woodland upset No. 2 Bloomfield 47-44 on a 3-pointer at the buzzer by Greg Lincoln.
Also, Advance beat Zalma 76-58 in a consolation semifinal game.
In the Delta-Perryville game, Greg Voelker had 15 points and Garrett DeBrock added 14. For Perryville, Todd French had 14 points and Bruce Weinkein 12.
In the other semifinal, Woodland was led by Jason Banderman's 14 points and Lincoln's 13.
Scott City, Hayti roll
SCOTT CITY -- Scott City beat East Prairie 82-49 and Hayti topped St. Vincent 75-47 in round-robin games in the Scott City Tournament Thursday.
Scott City (1-0) had four players in double figures. Tim Lowery scored 18 points, Jon Beck 17, Ryan Weatherspoon 14 and Adam Spinks 14.
Hayti (2-0) led St. Vincent (0-2) 46-38 after three quarters before outscoring the Indians 29-9 in the fourth.
Eric Kyles led Hayti with 22 points and Carlos Larry added 18. Kyle Eggers' 12 points led St. Vincent.
Scott City will play Hayti today and St. Vincent will meet East Prairie.
Oran Tournament
In Thursday's semifinal action, top-seeded Kelly breezed past fourth-seeded Scott County Central 93-64 while third-seeded Oran edged out seventh-seeded Puxico 67-62 in double overtime.
Kelly will meet Oran in tonight's 8:30 p.m. final.

9th-grade basketball
ND, Jackson split
Jackson's "A" ninth-grade team beat Notre Dame 46-34 on Thursday. John Hamm led Notre Dame with eight points.
In the "B" game, Notre Dame topped the Indians 56-30. Tony Riley paced the Bulldogs with 19 points.
