ST. LOUIS -- Cape Central's girls swim team won five events as it placed second in the Rockwood Quadrangular Friday with 555 points.
Rockwood Summitt won the meet with 651 points. Eureka placed third with 474 and Ursuline Academy tallied 338.
Grace Freeman won both the 100- and 200-meter freestyle. Jean Maguire also placed first in the 100 butterfly, while the Lady Tiger relay squads were victorious in the 200 and 400 freestyle.
"I feel like half the team is inexperienced and I feel we gained some important experience," said Cape Central coach Dayna Powell. "Some of them had significant time drops."
Central returns to action Tuesday at Lafayette.
