CHARLESTON -- Cape Central finished its regular season with an 18-6 record by disposing of Charleston 73-24 Thursday night.
The Lady Tigers erupted for 32 points in the opening quarter and led 45-15 at halftime.
"That was our biggest output of the year," Central coach Darrick Smith said. "We talked about coming out aggressive and it was nice to see them come out and do it."
Kim Aslinger scored 13 points for Central, followed by Dionna Webb and Katie Dougherty with 12.
Jackson 66, North County 47
BONNE TERRE -- Jackson, Missouri's top-ranked Class 4A school, jumped out to a 24-8 lead in the first quarter and had little trouble disposing of North County.
Jackson, which improved to 20-1, led 39-16 at halftime.
Chrissi Glastetter led all scorers with 17 points. Teammate Cherish Tillman tallied 12 and Melissa Palmer scored 10.
Notre Dame 57, Kelly 27
BENTON -- If Thursday night's game was any indication, Notre Dame's girls should have no trouble claiming the Class 2A, District 2 championship.
The Lady Bulldogs, who were selected as the No. 1 seed in the district meeting on Wednesday, had little trouble disposing of Kelly, the No. 2 seed.
"We went down and were ready to play ball," Notre Dame coach Jerry Grim said. "This should give the girls some confidence heading into districts."
Deana McCormick, a freshman forward, provided a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Notre Dame (12-12). Jill Huber added 16 for the Lady Bulldogs, followed by Randi Senciboy with 12.
Marissa Essner scored a game-high 19 points for Kelly, but didn't get much support from her teammates. Only three other players scored and not one of them scored more than four points.
Scott City 50, Oran 22
ORAN -- Scott City held Oran to just 12 points in the final three quarters as it improved to 13-8 for the year.
Becca Gowin scored 23 points to pace Scott City, followed by Alaina Smith with 13.
Scott City coach Randall White was particularly pleased with Lani Bedwell, who scored three points.
"She had a good game for us and ran the offense extremely well," White said. "Defensively, it was one of the best games we've had in quite a while."
No player scored in double figures for Oran.
Sikeston 41, Delta 37
DELTA -- Sikeston hit two free throws with eight seconds left to seal the win over Delta.
Amanda Cook scored a game-high 15 points for Delta.
The Lady Bobcats dropped to 8-14 overall.
Woodland 51, Puxico 45
PUXICO -- Woodland had three players in double figures as it posted its second win of the year.
Desirae Bollinger led the way for Woodland (2-12) with 13 points, followed by Sarah Booth with 12 and Dianna McCall with 10.
Jackie Payne scored 20 for Puxico.
Fredericktown 64, St. Vincent 34
FREDERICKTOWN -- Fredericktown outscored St. Vincent in each quarter and posted a comfortable victory over the Squaws.
Erin Kinder scored a game-high 17 points for Fredericktown, while Megan Brown collected 14 points and Nickey Tucker tallied 10.
Danielle Sutterer paced St. Vincent (4-17) with nine points.
Fredericktown led 15-9 after one quarter and 33-17 at halftime.
Scott County Central 87, Chaffee 40
MORLEY -- The Bravettes bolted out to a 34-9 lead in the first quarter and cruised from there.
Ashley Whitson led four Bravettes in double figures with 26 points. Brandy Miller had 19, Lekeya Turner 14 and Katie Griffin 13.
Scott County Central improved to 11-9.
Jill Little tallied 17 for Chaffee while Stevie Burks had 11.
Boys basketball
Ste. Genevieve 55, St. Vincent 44
STE. GENEVIEVE -- St. Vincent played its fifth game in six nights and may have just run out of gas as Ste. Genevieve outscored the Indians 27-16 in the fourth quarter and 38-21 in the second half.
St. Vincent, which led 23-17 at halftime, dropped to 13-8 for the season.
Gabe Hotop led St. Vincent with 13 points.
Ste. Gen was paced by Scott Schilli, who tallied 14 points.
