Cape Central's girls swim team made its home debut Tuesday, making four state qualifying cuts in a 113-73 duel loss to Parkway North.

Mary Beth Owen made two individual cuts for Central, winning the 200 freestyle in 1:56.65 and the 100 butterfly in 1:00.10.

Jean Maguire also made a state cut in placing second in the 500 freestyle in 5:41.93.

A highlight to the meet was the 400 freestyle relay team making the state cut in 4:03.24. Comprising the foursome were Marci Kester, Casey Brennan, Maguire and Owen.

Cape Central coach Dayna Powell came away happy with her team's cuts and impressed by Parkway North.

"That was the best Parkway North team I've probably ever seen," said Powell.

Central returns to action Friday in the Rockwood Quad.
