The Three Rivers College softball team split a pair of games Saturday against St. Louis Community College at Rains Field, winning 7-2 in the opener but dropping the nightcap 9-8 to the Archers.
Three Rivers (9-8) scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning of Saturday’s opener to quickly take control of the contest.
Gracie Wright had two hits and drove in a pair of runs, while Emily Graves drove in three runs on the day.
Emma Crabb started in the pitcher’s circle and went the distance, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out 11 and walking just one.
In the nightcap, it was the Archers scoring four runs in the top of the first inning to take quick control of the contest. TRC scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh and had a chance to pull it out, but came up just short.
Three Rivers pounded out 12 hits in the contest, including two apiece by Wright, Kodie VanEycke and Tori Stinnett. All three also added two RBIs
Elly Eckrich started and took the loss for TRC, allowing six runs (five earned) in three innings of work. Natalie Wilks tossed four innings of relief to finish the game.
The Lady Raiders are back in action with a doubleheader at State Fair. First pitch is slated for noon.
