It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Poplar Bluff Lady Mules pinked out the gym as they hosted the Notre Dame Lady Bulldogs.

In three close sets, Notre Dame would be too much for the Lady Mules, and they would fall 3-0 on Monday (25-18, 25-17, 25-18).

The Lady Mules came out with solid energy and hung around with Notre Dame throughout the sets, but when the game got too close, the Lady Bulldogs easily closed the set.

Junior Morgan Cisne led the Lady Mules with nine kills, while senior Chole Cambron added eight kills and Ireland Gowen pitched in with six kills. Setting the Lady Mules up in position was Kyra Mizell, who had 11 assists.

Head volleyball coach Summer Shipman said the team's morale has been positive in their last few matchups. She said there have been some adjustments to their lineup, but she is pleased with the team’s effort.

The Lady Mules will be on the road for their next two games before the district playoffs. They will take on Saxony Lutheran (19-7-2) on Tuesday and Eminence (12-16-1) on Thursday.
