In the 17 of years of the Coors Light/Trail of Tears Triathlon, more than half of the events have been won by Barry Knight.

The Paducah, Ky., resident won the event for the 10th time last Saturday and came home first for the ninth time in 10 years. He did not compete in 2001.

Knight never has placed lower than third when he has competed.

He holds the record for the current course in 1 hour, 7 minutes and 40 seconds. He won this year in 1:10:55.

The women's course record was broken this year by Jennifer Meyer of St. Louis. She finished in 1:18:43, more than 3 minutes ahead of Dana Berkbuegler's 2000 mark.

The event, which has been sponsored since its inception by Kohlfeld Distributing's Coors Light, attracted a field of 223 runners from eight states.
