Kelso Fastpitch took third place at the NAFA A-Major World Series in Des Moines, Iowa, over the weekend.

The local men's fastpitch softball team won its first five tournament games to move into Saturday night's winners bracket final of the 38-team, double-elimination event.

Canada Bronx then handed Kelso its first tournament defeat, a 3-1 loss. Kelso was eliminated with a 9-7 loss to Santa Rosa, Calif., in the losers bracket final Sunday.

Kelso had four players selected to the All-World team, led by Tom Jansen, who was named the tournament's co-MVP pitcher. The veteran hurler needs one more All-World selection to qualify for NAFA's Hall of Fame.

Other All-World picks for Kelso were outfielder Jonathan Lynch, catcher Dane Balsmann and second baseman Zach Cain.

Kelso finished the season 28-8 with four tournament championships.
