The Kelly and Charleston cross country teams competed in the MSHSAA Class 2, District 1 Meet at Notre Dame High School on Saturday, October 28.
The Kelly boys team finished 12th overall. Truman White led the Hawks with a 23rd-place finish in 18 minutes and 18.55 seconds.
The Hawks’ Brody Oesch (18:30.10) and Tavin Riley (20:31.08) followed in 28th and 61st place, respectively, while Brayden Carter (21:57.34), Dylan Noyes (22:36.83), Kaden Mayberry (22:51.54), and Parker Kolwyck (24:32.02) also competed.
White and Oesch qualified for the state meet at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri on Friday, November 3.
The Kelly girls team did not record a team score, but Olivia Cross placed 54th in 25:16.25 and Lindsay Jett finished 82nd in 29:30.61.
Charleston's boys’ team also did not record a team score. Brown Logan was the Blue Jays' top finisher at 43rd in 19:34.79. Kaleb Greely (91st in 22:36.34), Damon Jackson (105th in 24:46.22), and Dadrian Jones (114th in 31:36.84) also competed.
Mary Beth Cox was Charleston's lone finisher on the girls’ side, placing 90th in 31:10.95.
