Kelly's Kern races to win at Oak Ridge Invitational

Kelly senior Cody Kern raced to victory in the boys race at the Oak Ridge Invitational cross country meet Tuesday.

Kern covered the course in 16 minutes, 5 seconds, while Delta's Zach Riegert was third (16:28) and Woodland's Dylan Drum fourth (16:30).

The host Blue Jays won the meet with 71 points, five points ahead of Crystal City. Caleb Elam led Oak Ridge with a ninth-place finish (17:11).

Chaffee's Luisa Boschan finished second in the girls race, crossing the line in 18:58. Saxony Lutheran's Kristin Dippold was third in 20:18.

James Diveley and James Holloway shared the goalie duties in the loss.

Sam Davis scored two goals and Josh Carbaugh added one as the Eagles improved to 9-2.

Roy Yoon and Aaron Margrabe earned assists.
