Kelly's Dalton Huffman covered 44 feet, 3 3/4 inches to place second in the triple jump at the Missouri Class 1-2 State Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo.

Huffman, a sophomore, was of four Kelly athletes and eight local athletes overall to finish among the top eight and gain all-state distinction.

He also gained all-state honors in the Class 2 high jump, clearing 6-1 to place seventh.

Samantha Ratledge finished sixth in the triple jump, traveling 33-10 1/2, and was one of three Kelly sophomores to earn all-state. Morgan LeDure tied for eighth in the high jump (4-10), while Dakaria Johnson was eighth in the 100 (13.0).

Also in Class 2, Saxony Lutheran senior Brandon Fritsche placed fifth in the 400 (51.42), while Chaffee senior Dustin Worley finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 45-10 1/2.

In Class 1, Oran senior Baily Carlyle placed fourth in the girls Class 1 100 hurdles (17.09), while junior teammate Addie Kielhofner took fifth place in the 300 hurdles (48.41).
