Kelly Essner tossed a perfect game and struck out 10 batters, as Kelly to a 6-0 victory Wednesday night at Central.

It was the second time in five days a Kelly pitcher has allowed no hits, after Whitney Beggs threw a no-hitter Saturday against Notre Dame.

"Both of those pitchers are averaging eight to 10 strikeouts a game now," Kelly coach Rhonda Ratledge said. "With those two dominating on the mound, that's something to be very proud of."

Mindy Robert drove in three runs for the Hawks (9-2). Robert hit a two-run triple and belted a solo home run in the sixth.Kelly 6, Central 0

Notre Dame took advantage of three Chaffee errors to win on the road.

Beth Schnurbusch won her seventh game for the Bulldogs (12-1), allowing one hit and no runs in four innings. Miranda Schlosser pitched the final three.

Courtney Walter lost her second game on the mound for the Red Devils (5-2).

Whitney Ostendorf and Alana Weissmueller led Notre Dame with two hits apiece. Chaffee's Rachel Hendrix had two hits.
