BENTON, MO. -- Host Kelly and Scott City will meet for the Scott-Mississippi County Conference Tournament championship at 8 tonight as both posted easy semifinal wins Wednesday.

Kelly disposed of Delta 54-24, while Scott City posted a 56-23 win over Oran.

In the Kelly game, Marissa Essner scored 18 points to lead the Lady Hawks (11-1).

"Delta has a very tough team and I'm proud of the way the girls played," said Kelly coach Rod McQuerter. "They played hard and played good team ball."

Rebecca Below scored 10 points to lead the Lady Bobcats.

Scott City (8-4) got 17 points and 12 rebounds from Loren Groves and 15 points from Rachel Spinks as the Lady Rams held a 33-5 lead at halftime.

Scott City coach Randy White was pleased with the defensive effort, particularly that of Spinks.

"In the first half we played extremely well defensively," White said.

Maria Eftink, one of just three players to score for the Lady Eagles, led Oran with nine points.

Vianney 101,

Notre Dame 82

Jordan Kuper was a four-event winner as Notre Dame simply didn't have enough bodies against Vianney.

Kuper and his teammates had a good meet, but lost in a numbers game.

"We had three swimmers out -- two with the flu and one with a shoulder," said Notre Dame coach Lenny Kuper. "We had a great meet. The other team just out-numbered us. We were leading after the first six events but our numbers prevented us from entering three in each event."

Vianney had 28 swimmers, while Notre Dame had only 11.
