Kelly, SCC to meet in title game

Kelly and Scott County Central will meet tonight for the fourth time this season after both teams advanced to the championship game of the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament at Chaffee.

The title game is set for 7:30.

Top-seeded Kelly (11-5) knocked off No. 4 Oran (6-8) 69-49 on Thursday. Kelly's Russell Carroll led all scorers with 17 points, including four 3-pointers in the second quarter.

Steven Mock led the Eagles with 13 points.

In the other semifinal, third-seeded Scott County Central (7-9) edged No. 2 Scott City (9-7) 71-67 in overtime.

D.D. Gillespie scored 27 points for the Braves, while Pershard Owens added 18.

Alex King had a game-high 28 points for the Rams.
