CHARLESTON -- Kelly scored eight runs in the sixth inning and five in the seventh in disposing of Charleston 15-2 Thursday.
Tim Schmidt (2-0) got the win and went the distance. Schmidt tossed a two-hitter and struck out seven. Kelly is now 4-1-1.
Kelly totaled eight hits and drew eight walks. Bradley Kolwyck hit a grand slam and had five RBIs, Jim Hulshof was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Jason Glastetter and Jamie Essner each had a hit and two RBIs.
Herculaneum 13, St. Vincent 2
HERCULANEUM -- Five errors proved costly for St. Vincent in its loss to Herculaneum. The Indians fell to 4-3.
Herculanuem opened a 11-0 lead after two innings as losing pitcher Dusty Wengert was knocked out after 1 1/3 innings.
St. Vincent totaled five hits; Wengert was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Golf
PERRYVILLE -- Although Perryville's Ryan Besand was meet medalist with a 3-over 38 in the windy conditions, St. Vincent prevailed with a team score of 167 over Perryville (180) and Hillsboro (183).
Craig Schumer paced St. Vincent (5-1) with a 40. Joe Ponder and Keith Pecaut each shot 42 and Jon Paulus and Ryan Prost each shot 43.
For Perryville, Derek Cattor and Jack Moore both shot 46, Jared Hotop 50 and Jon Yancey 51.
Girls soccer
Cape Central 2, Poplar Bluff 1
POPLAR BLUFF -- Cape Central improved to 6-0-1 with its win over Poplar Bluff.
The Lady Tigers led 1-0 at half after Amber Voerg scored on a free kick 11 minutes into the match. Then 12 minutes into the second half, Kim Aslinger scored on Amanda Hiler's assist to make the score 2-0.
Poplar Bluff score with 20 minutes remaining.
Central's JV team won 4-0 as Leslie Waggoner and Cameron Bennett each scored two goals.
Union 2, Notre Dame 1
PACIFIC -- Trailing 2-0, Notre Dame's Courtney Vickery scored on Emily Worley's assist with five minutes remaining, and the Lady Bulldogs fell to Union in the Pacific Tournament.
Notre Dame (3-4-1) will meet Windsor on Saturday for third place.
Jackson 5, St. Vincent 1
PERRYVILLE -- Julie Wunderlich recorded a hat trick and Jessica Shultz added two goals as Jackson beat St. Vincent.
Leading 2-1 at halftime, Jackson (5-2-1) scored three goals playing into a strong wind.
Jackson's Carrie Myer had two assists, and Wunderlich, Laura Beck and Lacie Hodo each addded one.
