JEFFERSON CITY -- Kelly came into the 2A state meet with hopes of placing in the top five. But the Hawks earned just 14 points at state to place 19th.

Travis Schiwitz and Nathan Dirnberger were the only individuals to place during state competition. Schiwitz took fourth in a highly competitive 800-meter final on Friday with a time of 2:00.57. Dirnberger took sixth in the pole vault, clearing 11-6.

Two Hawks relay teams earned points at state. The Hawks 4x800 relay team (Michael Riley, Chad Felter, Nathen King and Schiwitz) took fourth-place with a time of 8:23.47 and the 4x400 team got a point for eighth-place with a time of 3:36.20.
