BENTON, Mo. — The Kelly baseball team improved its current win streak to three games with a win over Woodland on Monday, April 3.
The Hawks (6-2) won 2-0 over the Cardinals (3-3) at Kelly High School.
The team was powered by hits from Mason Eubanks, Reece Eftink, Drew Klipfel and Ross Peters.
Dalton Forck earned the win on the mound after throwing 6.2 innings and allowing three hits with 13 strikeouts and four walked batters.
Klipfel secured the final out of the game.
Kelly won a pair of games on Saturday, April 1.
The Hawks won 14-1 over Oak Ridge (3-2) and 17-2 over Delta (0-7).
Peters earned the win against the Blue Jays. He threw all five innings and didn’t allow any earned runs on two hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.
Peters led the team with three hits, while Eubanks, Eftink and Forck each added two hits.
Both of Eftink’s hits were home runs, while both of Forck’s hits were doubles.
Eftink led the team with five RBIs.
Nicholas Christian earned the win against Delta. He started and threw the first three innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits with six strikeouts and a walk.
Brandon Herrion finished the game, pitching the final inning and not allowing any runs or hits with two strikeouts and two walked batters.
Kelly travels to Tamms, Illinois to take on Egyptian (0-4) on Tuesday, April 4, and hosts New Madrid County Central (3-2) on Thursday, April 6.
