Woodland freshman Neil Johnson made his first high school at-bat a memorable one.

Johnson drilled a three-run home run in his first at-bat, and finished with three hits and four RBIs as the Cardinals defeated Puxico 10-8 in baseball action Thursday.

Johnson also picked up the win on the mound in relief, striking out four and walking one in four scoreless innings.

Cole Benfield went 2-for-4 and scored four runs for the winners.

The game was played in Zalma because both teams' fields were unplayable.
