The Southeast Missouri State softball team continued to struggle Saturday as the Redhawks were routed in an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader at Jacksonville State.
First-place JSU posted a pair of five-inning, run-rule wins, 12-1 and 9-0.
Southeast, which has lost six straight, fell to 12-14 overall and 3-5 in the OVC. JSU is 23-9 and 8-1.
The Redhawks were outhit 18-4 in the two games.
Giana Zimmerman (7-6) took the loss in each contest, allowing 12 hits and 12 earned runs in a total of five innings.
The squads close out their three-game series today.
Gymnasts fail to qualify
None of Southeast's four individual qualifiers for Saturday's NCAA South Central Regional gymnastics meet qualified for national competition.
Sandra Blake, Rikara Turner, Brianna Gaddie and Christina Sundgren represented Southeast in Fayetteville, Ark.
