FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Jackson High's boys basketball team (2-1) trounced North County 54-28 to claim fifth place in the Farmington Tournament Saturday night.
Leading by a slim 20-18 first-half margin, the Indians defense held North County to 10 second-half points.
"Our defensive effort was great," said Jackson coach Mike Kiehne.
Seth McDowell led the Indian offense with 16 points, while Lance Bollinger and Nathan Brown added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

WEST FRANKFORT, ILL. -- Eagle Ridge (1-1) never got untracked in the blowout loss to Grace Christian.
Andrew Mellies led the Eagles with 10 points.
The Lady Eagles spoiled Grace Christian's inaugural girls basketball game with a 41-2 win.
Amber Karnes paced Eagle Ridge with 11 points and Rachel Carbaugh tallied 10.
