GOREVILLE, Ill. -- Jackson romped to its fourth straight victory Tuesday, improving to 6-5.
Pitcher Beth Becker allowed no earned runs to get the win.
Offensively, Jackson slammed 18 hits. Megan Kuntze had a huge game with three hits, including a home run, and five RBIs.
Melissa Palmer had four hits while Nicki Hobeck and Caroline Harper both added three.
Jackson hosts Perryville today.
Perryville 8, Herculaneum 1
HERCULANEUM -- Perryville remained unbeaten at 6-0 by romping Tuesday.
Carrie Preston, who has all the pitching victories, allowed one hit and no earned runs in five innings. Julie Preston gave up no hits over the final two frames.
The Lady Pirates had eight hits, led by Amanda Schumer with two hits and two RBIs. Julie Preston also had two RBIs.
Kelly 4, East Prairie 0
EAST PRAIRIE -- Kelly pitcher Kim Riley threw a one-hitter Tuesday to improve the Lady Hawks to 4-0.
Riley pitched all seven innings, striking out nine and walking none. East Prairie's only hit was a double in the fourth inning.
Kelly scored three runs in the fourth inning and a single tally in the seventh. Amanda Backfish had an RBI single in the fourth and Natalie Robert drove in the final run in the seventh.
Robert and Pam Essner went 2-for-3. Marrissa Essner was 2-for-4 with a double. Kelly had nine hits.
Kelly plays at Perryville Thursday.
