The Indians advanced to the Class 3 District 1 title game with a 4-0 shutout of Northwest on Monday at Fox High School.

Senior Bobbi Jo Schlick, who already signed to play at Southeast Missouri State in the fall, scored two goals, while Megan Davidson and Hannah Roach also scored in the victory.

Kasey Crowden and Erin Eakens picked up assists.

Sophomore Brooke Sanders made four saves to post the shutout.

Jackson (17-3) will face Fox, a 2-1 winner over Seckman, in Wednesday's 6 p.m. title game at Fox High School.

Class 2 District 1

Sophomore Brianna Ziegler recorded the best kind of shutout -- one where she wasn't forced to make a save.

Ziegler posted the shutout as Notre Dame beat Festus 2-0.

Meghan Dohogne and Brianne Sanders scored, while Taylor Sanders and Anna Wren posted assists.

The Bulldogs (15-3) will face Sikeston in a 7 p.m. semifinal Wednesday at Notre Dame.

Class 1 District 1

St. Vincent opened the playoffs with a resounding 11-1 victory over Hancock.

The Indians will face Gateway in Wednesday's 6:30 p.m. title game at St. Pius High School.

BASEBALLClass 4 District 1

Jackson advanced to the semifinal round with a 9-4 victory over Farmington.

Caleb Hosey knocked in a pair of runs, while Michael Mouser and Clayton Baker both collected two hits.

Sophomore left-hander Zach McDowell picked up the win on the mound.

The Indians will face North County today at 7 p.m. at Farmington High School.

Central saw its season come to an end with a 5-1 loss to DeSoto.

The Dragons scored four in the sixth to seal it.

The Tigers (14-10) managed two hits, including a double by Jared Green. He scored on a ground out by Ryan Grigaitis in the sixth inning.

Josh Meyer took the loss on the mound.

Josh DeBrock went 2-for-3 and drove in four runs. Brett Harper knocked in two for Kelly, which advanced to face Scott City in today's 2 p.m. semifinal at Charleston.

St. Vincent's season ended with a 9-5 loss to Charleston.

Oran's offense erupted for 12 runs in the third inning as the Eagles crushed Richland 14-1 in a quarterfinal.

Oran will face Bell City in today's 2 p.m. semifinal.

Chaffee and Bernie will meet in the 4 p.m. semifinal after the Red Devils beat Scott County Central 16-4 and Bernie downed Delta 10-3.

Oran catcher Zac Chasteen went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, while second baseman Dalton Elfrink scored three runs in the Eagles' win. Oran only collected seven hits but walked eight times.

Adam Schaefer allowed one hit and struck out seven in a five-inning complete game.

The Red Devils (10-8) had five players collected two hits apiece in the rout.

Hunter Thomason drove in four runs, while Trenton Horman and Aaron Horrell finished with three RBIs each.

Ben Freed and Rashaad Brown each drove in a run for the Braves.

Delta's Matt Gooch scored two runs and Chase Crowden stole three bases, but it wasn't enough as the Bobcats' season ended.

Crowden took the loss on the mound.
