Jackson rolls to victory

Jackson's American Legion team scored 27 runs in a doubleheader sweep Tuesday at Perryville.

Jackson won the opener 10-0 behind a two-hitter from Isaac Kinnard. He struck out five and went 3-for-5 with three RBIs.

Jake D'Amico had a home run and was one of five hitters with two hits in the game. Jake Hime, Ethan Davenport, Ryan Cheney and Levi Petzoldt added two hits.

In the second game, Jackson won 17-3. Hime struck out four in five innings for the win.

Kinnard had two hits and four RBIs. Daniel Smith went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Blake Reiminger, Davenport and Matt Rushin added two hits apiece.

Jackson is back in action Friday at district opponent Sikeston.
