Jackson Post 158 set to begin play at Zone 4 tourney on Wednesday

The Jackson Post 158 Senior American Legion baseball team will take the field at 5 p.m. Wednesday against Ste. Genevieve Post 150 to begin the Zone 4 Senior Legion double-elimination tournament at Wilson Rozier Park in Farmington, Missouri.

Farmington Post 416 will take on Ballwin Post 611/Manchester Post 208 at 8 p.m. Wednesday, and the winner between Jackson and Ste. Genevieve will face Ballwin Post 611/Manchester Post 208 at 5 p.m. Thursday. The loser between Jackson and Ste. Genevieve will take on the loser between Farmington and Ballwin/Manchester at 8 p.m. Thursday.

The championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, and a final championship game is slated for 2 p.m. Sunday, if necessary.

Schedule determined for Kansas Regional

The Charleston Fighting Squirrels will be one of eight teams competing in the Senior Babe Ruth Midwest Plains Regional tournament, which is scheduled to begin Friday at Battershell Field in Lyons, Kansas.

The Fighting Squirrels will be joined by Colorado, Kansas and North Dakota in the American League Pool, while Iowa, Lyons, Minnesota and Wayne County will compete in the National League Pool.

Charleston will begin play against North Dakota at noon Friday, followed by a matchup against Kansas at 3 p.m. Saturday and a game against Colorado at noon Sunday. Bracket play is slated for Monday.
