The Jackson wrestling team finished sixth in the 24-team Granite City (Ill.) tournament last week.

Levi Rayburn and Michael Riney led the Indians with second-place finishes as Jackson collected 411 points. Neosho, the defending Missouri Class 3 state champions, won the team title with 616 points, and Minooka (Ill.), the defending Class 3 champions in Illinois, placed second with 585.

"It was a pretty rugged tournament," Jackson coach Steve Wachter said. "It was a high level of competition."

Rayburn went 8-1 in the 119-pound competition and earned the tournament's Most Pins trophy with seven pins. Riney's first loss of the season came in the 189-pound championship match.

Ryan Marble (171) finished fourth, while Jordan Reisenbichler (125) and Blake Hooe (152) finished sixth. Kodi Byrd (103, eighth), Levi Hobeck (145, ninth) and Cody Morgan (160, ninth) also had top 10 finishes for the Indians.
