Jackson blew out Farmington 85-48 to open the season with a first-round win at the Farmington Invitational Tournament on Wednesday night.

Jackson now faces Fort Zumwalt West.

"We really came out with a lot of energy," Jackson coach Darrin Scott said. "Defensively, we had a lot of energy and did everything we wanted to. I was very happy with the way we played tonight."

The Indians were led by Jack Puisis, who scored 26 points on the night. Trey Stone also chipped in with 13, and Tyler Buessink contributed 11 points.

Fort Zumwalt West defeated Central in the first round of the Farmington tournament.

Central's Eli Harris led all scorers with 23. Anthony Hempstead added 10 points.

"Our defense was good tonight," said Central coach Derek McCord. "But our offense isn't as good as our defense. I expect our offense to catch up soon."
