Jenny Powell and Montana Adams collected Jackson's lone doubles victory, but it was enough to lift the Indians' girls tennis team to a 5-4 road victory over Poplar Bluff on Tuesday.
Powell and Adams, who won their No. 1 singles match 8-5, also picked up singles victories. Jackson (2-0) won the top four singles matches.

The Hawks banged out 18 hits to win on the road.
Haley Glastetter and Jade Rampley led the attack with three hits apiece, while Emily Grojean, Kaitlin Glastetter, Kristen Powell and Kristen Vetter had two hits each. Kaitlin Glastetter had a triple, while Haley Glastetter, Vetter and Rampley doubled.
Powell collected the win in the circle for Kelly (1-1).
Sierra Miller and Taylor Fodge both had two hits for Chaffee (1-1). Fodge and Adrienne Eichhorn doubled for the Red Devils.

Morgan Baer hit a home run in a 3-for-3 performance as the Pirates moved to 2-0.
Ashley Hotop added a double and went 2 for 4.
Casey Hotop struck out seven batters and allowed one run to notch the win.

Jackson collected four doubles but fell short in its attempt to beat three-time defending Illinois Class 1A state champion Cobden on the Appleknockers' home field.
After Jackson, playing its season opener, scored four runs in the top of the fourth to tie the game 4-4, Cobden scored three runs in the bottom of the inning to move ahead for good.
Brittney Jones went 4 for 4 with a double to lead Jackson's 12-hit attack. Demesha Huddleston and Chelsea Dye both had a double and finished with two hits apiece.
