The Jackson baseball team improved its SEMO Conference mark to 5-0 with a 7-0 shutout of Dexter on Wednesday at home.
The Indians received seven innings of shutout pitching from senior Tyler Beussink. Beussink improved to 4-0 after allowing six hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.
Brandon Gendron was the offensive star for the Indians (10-1) with a 3-for-3 performance to go along with four RBIs. Derrick Biri and Luke Crader had two hits apiece for Jackson. Jason Meystedt added two RBIs.
"We're finally getting to play some games," Jackson coach Rex Crosnoe said. "Like all teams, hopefully the guys are starting to get in a rhythm."
Jackson posted a 17-5 victory against Goreville, Ill., on Tuesday.

Central's Brad LaBruyere struck out 12 batters in a complete-game road win for the Tigers.
LaBruyere, a sophomore, allowed only two runs -- both unearned -- and one walk to improve to 5-1.
Brandon Cooper had two hits for Central (7-8), and Kent Deason had two hits for the Hawks (4-3).

Advance's Jeremy Limbaugh won his fourth game on the mound and went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Hornets to a home win over district foe Oran, which was the Class 1 state runner-up last year.
Limbaugh allowed six hits in seven innings.
Daryl Wade and Kevin Adkins added two hits each for Advance (10-0), while Limbaugh and Trenton Moses added home runs.
For state-ranked Oran, Caleb Seyer, Austin Dumey and Joey Williams had two hits apiece.
Chase Seyer suffered the loss on the mound for the Eagles (8-2), allowing seven hits and five earned runs in 3 2/3 innings.

Matt Stoverink struck out 13 Oak Ridge batters and drove in three runs in a home win for Leopold.
