SEDALIA -- After the first day of state golf competition, Jackson stood eighth out of 16 teams in Class 4A with a four player total of 321 for 18 holes. Lebanon leads the 4A field with a 303. SEDALIA -- After the first day of state golf competition, Jackson stood eighth out of 16 teams in Class 4A with a four player total of 321 for 18 holes.

Lebanon leads the 4A field with a 303. Jefferson City is second with a 311. Sikeston is 16th with a 359. The final round of all classifications will played today.

Jackson's Travis Reiminger leads the Indians with a 76, good for a share of seventh place with several other golfers. Central's Dane McLaird, the only Central golfer to qualify for state, is tied for 24th with a 78. Low individual score was a 70.

Other scores for Jackson were Tyler Luebbers (81), Gabe Estes (82), John Litzelfelner (82) and Clint Faries (83).

Class 2A

Notre Dame completed its first day of state action in 11th place, but senior Dan Buerck shot a 79 for a share of 10th place.

The Bulldogs shot 344 as a team, putting themselves well back of first day leaders John Burroughs (312). The low individual score was a 72.

Other scorers for Notre Dame were Jonathan LeGrand (86), Matt Howard (89), Chris Koeper (90) and Cliff Seratti (95).

Class 1A

St. Vincent appears to have the best shot of local teams competing for a state medal finish.

The Indians were in fifth place with a total of 329. Tipton is well in front of the 1A field with a 314. Albany is in second with a 326.

St. Vincent was led by Jon Clements, currently in eighth with a 76. The low individual score was a 70.

Other St. Vincent scores were Jerrod Hoch (79), Joe Ponder (83), Dustin Cattoor (84) and Keith Pecaut (84).
