JACKSON, Mo. -- Jackson's girls basketball team shot over 50 percent from the field as five players finished in double figures in an 86-24 rout of Perryville Monday night.
Six-foot-one senior Alisha Burns led the charge with 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field. As a team, Jackson connected on 34 of 62 shots, including seven 3-pointers.
"We just shot the eyes out of it," said Jackson coach Ron Cook, whose team improved to 4-2.
Jenna Leet added 14 points, while Jessica Venable had 12 and Kacie Crites and Whitney Werner finished with 10 apiece.
"That was probably our best game of the year on defense," added Cook.
Jackson took control from the start, outscoring Perryville 22-7 in the opening eight minutes. The Lady Indians led 41-9 by halftime.
Heather Lorenz led Perryville with six points.
Cape Central 61, North County 48
BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- Megan McDonald scored 26 points and Sarah Hyslop added 18 to lead the Lady Tigers to victory.
Hyslop also grabbed 12 rebounds to help Cape Central, which was ahead 32-24 at halftime, improve to 4-2.
Delta 71, Chaffee 43
DELTA, Mo. -- Delta overcame somewhat of a slow start as the Lady Bobcats cruised past Chaffee.
The Lady Bobcats (5-2) trailed 12-10 after one quarter but went ahead 31-20 by halftime.
Rebecca Below poured in 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Delta. Rebecca Cook had 16 points and dished out 10 assists, Sarah Cook scored 12 points and Sarah Jo Cook added 11 points.
"We got off to kind of a slow start but then we picked it up," said Delta coach Randy White.
Chaffee (1-5) got 14 points from both Jennifer Vandeven and April Stafford.
Delta's JV prevailed 27-11.
Scott City 34, Hayti 30
HAYTI, Mo. -- Loren Groves pumped in 23 points to help Scott City rally past Hayti.
The Lady Rams (3-2) trailed 20-17 at halftime but they outscored Hayti 10-6 in the third quarter and 7-4 in the final period.
Kelly 68, East Prairie 14
EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Kelly improved to 6-1 by destroying East Prairie.
Julia Vetter and Christy Kluesner each scored 10 points for the Lady Hawks, who led 23-3 after one quarter and 48-5 at halftime.
Oran 54, Scott County 42
ORAN, Mo. -- Maria Eftink scored 20 points as Oran eased past Scott County Central.
The Lady Eagles (3-1) also received 14 points from Erica Dirnberger and 11 from Ashley Dirnberger.
Scott Central (2-2) was paced by Jennifer Hoots with 13 points.
