It came down to timing, Jackson coach Amanda Forester said.

Seckman defeated Jackson 12-4 Saturday in the Class 4 district title game at Farmington Sports Complex.

The Jaguars pounded out 18 hits in the win. Jackson had a dozen hits, but had several scoring opportunities slip away.

"They came out with the bats, we came out with the bats. They just put theirs together," Forester said.

Seckman's scoring came in bunches. It scored four times in the first inning and put up five more runs in the fourth inning.

Sheila Wade took the loss for Jackson. Wade, who had shutout Seckman earlier this year, pitched 3 1/3 innings and gave up 10 runs. Darla Mangels finished the game for the Indians.

Holly Brown threw a complete game to earn the win for Seckman, which improved to 21-7.

Jessica Pitts, Alisha Craft and Brittany Feeney each had two hits for Jackson.

Top-seeded Seckman was led by Kelsey Biggs, who had four hits and three RBIs.

Jackson's offense was stalled by a couple key defensive plays by Seckman. The Indians had a runner thrown out at the plate to end the third inning and had rallies end on double plays in the sixth and seventh innings.

Jackson, the No. 3 seed in the six-team district, finished 18-10.
