Jackson scored two first-half goals and held on in the second half to down St. Vincent 3-1 in the championship game at the Perryville Invitational soccer tournament Saturday.
"The first half was ours," Jackson coach Zack Walton said. "We controlled a lot of it."
Katelyn Myracle opened the scoring and Bobbi Jo Schlick added the second goal in the opening half.
"The caught us napping in the first five minutes," St. Vincent coach Dustin Wengert said.
St. Vincent cut Jackson's lead in half when Liz Brueckner found the back of the net.
Randi Kraust added an insurance goal for Jackson late in the second half.
Megan Wengert made 11 saves for St. Vincent while Jackson backup goalie Morgan Riddick stopped 10 shots for the win.
"I thought Morgan did a good job for us all weekend," Walton said.
Jackson improved to 10-2-1 while St. Vincent dropped to 14-3.
Kendra Schilli and Alicia Kueker netted two goals apiece to lead Perryville to a 7-2 third-place win over Fredericktown.
Liz Martin, Ashley Reid, and Ava Johnson each added a goal. Schilli, Kueker and Reid each had one assist and Lindsey Martin added two.
Chastity Marr made three saves in goal for the Pirates (10-7).
BOYS TENNISCentral splits pair
Central split a pair of matches in Sikeston against St. Louis-area teams, beating Eureka 6-3 and losing to Parkway West 6-3.

The seventh-grade boys finished third and Jackson was first. Christian Cavaness won the 100 hurdles for the Tigers.
Central's girls finished fourth in both the seventh-grade and eighth-grade divisions. Christen Johnson won the shot put for the seventh-graders and Mary Dohogne won the 1,600 for the eighth-graders.
Jackson beat Edwardsville (Ill.) 5-1 and Lindbergh 8-3, while losing to Vianney 3-2.
Brandon Wright and Matt Crader picked up the pitching victories. Crader was Jackson's top hitter, going 5-for-11, while Josh Ducan went 4-for-12.
