The Jackson American Legion baseball team split a doubleheader with Ste. Genevieve on Friday, then lost two games to Anheuser-Busch on Saturday.

Jackson won 8-5 over Ste. Genevieve with Ethan Devenport leading the way. Devenport went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. He also earned the win on the mound, tossing six innings. He allowed five runs on eight hits while striking out three.

Kyle Reynolds and Drew Coleman both had two hits, while Ryan Cheney and Garrett Seabaugh each homered for Jackson.

Jackson then was defeated in the second game 12-11 with pitcher Chad Scroggins taking the loss.

Alex Tripp went 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Cheney was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs. Devenport went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Reynolds was 3-for-4 with three RBIs.

Jackson lost 13-2 and 16-4 against Anheuser-Busch.

Coleman suffered the loss on the mound in the first game, while hurler Michael Mouser took the loss in the second game.

Blake Reiminger went 2-for-3 in the first game and 3-for-4 in the second game.

Cheney went 2-for-3 in the first game, while Scroggins was 2-for-4.

Fulton (Ky.) tournament

The Scott County Junior Legion team won twice Saturday at the Fulton, Ky., tournament.

Scott County beat Charleston 20-19 and Lone Oak, Ky., 12-3.

Dustin Crowden hit two home runs in each game. He went 5-for-5 against Charleston.

Austin Raines and Skylar Cobb added three hits each against Charleston. Ethan Essner was the winning pitcher, with Cobb earning a save.

Coby Holland had three hits against Lone Oak. Jeremy Essner notched the victory on the mound.

Scott County, which dropped its tournament opener Friday, 7-5 to Fulton, Ky., continues tournament play today.
