The Jackson 12-and-under baseball team won its final two pool play games Wednesday and Thursday at the Cal Ripken World Series in Aberdeen, Md., to finish with a 2-2 record.

Jackson did not advance to the final eight for the elimination bracket, which begins today.

Jackson closed out its tournament with a 5-4 upset victory against previously unbeaten Southeast Lexington, Ky., on Thursday.

Jackson fell behind 3-0 in the top of the third inning but answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame and scored one more in the fourth inning.

Lexington had not allowed any runs in the tournament prior to the game.

Chase Crowden was 2-for-2 with one RBI, while pitcher Clay Baker had two hits and scored twice.

Baker pitched a complete game for the win.

On Wednesday, Jackson defeated host Hickory Fountain Green of Maryland, 15-2.

Chase Crowden, Ethan Ruch, Neil Johnson and Zach McDowell each had a home run in the game. Crowden finished 3-for-4 with four runs batted in and three runs scored.

Logan Bartels pitched all four innings to record the win.
